Excursions

If you wish to pre-purchase an off-property excursion, you can do so through these reputable companies:

  • Amstar (all Mexico, Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Costa Rica)

Spa Treatments

Most resorts allow you to pre-book appointments. If you know you want to visit the spa on a specific day of your trip, all you have to do is visit your resort’s website or contact your agent for more information.

Eating & Drinking

  • Call your cocktail by name when ordering. For example, order an Absolut and soda vs. just a vodka soda to ensure you get a brand you’re going to be familiar with.

  • 24-hour room service and a mini-bar are included only where specified by your agent during booking.

  • Water for drinks and ice is filtered for safe consumption at the restaurants and bars at your resort. In your room, you should use the bottled water provided in your room instead of drinking water from the faucet.

  • If you ever want something you don’t see on a menu or from a bar, or even from housekeeping, just ask! Resort staff are generally more than happy to try to accommodate your special requests. The resort front desk is the most effective first point of assistance within your resort but if you don't get the matter resolved, please contact your agent.

  • Extra hungry or see more than one item on the menu that catches your eye? Order up! It’s all-included and double courses are the norm.

Money, Health Insurance, and Tech:

  • Wifi is complimentary at most resorts and will be specified by your agent during booking.

  • USD is accepted if you wish to tip and cash/credit cards (except Discover) are accepted if you wish to make a purchase at most resorts. You do not need to change USD to the local currency except where specified by your agent for certain hotel brands.

  • Exchange USD large bills at your bank before you travel for tipping. $1’s and $5’s are recommended.

Tipping:

Tipping is at your discretion but tipping for good service is encouraged by Destination Luxe Travel and sincerely appreciated by resort staff. Click here for our tipping guide.
